Rhinoplasty Cadaver Course – Edition 2024
This archived edition documents the first structured rhinoplasty cadaver course within the program pathway. The 2024 course focused on step-by-step practical training in open rhinoplasty dissection, graft harvesting, dorsal reduction, septal work, osteotomies, tip surgery, diced cartilage preparation and PRF-assisted application, using fresh-frozen cadaver specimens in a supervised hands-on environment.
Part of the Hellenic Institute of Facial Plastic Surgery cadaver training series.
Edition Overview
The 2024 edition was conceived as a focused practical course for surgeons seeking structured cadaveric exposure to contemporary rhinoplasty techniques. The format combined short teaching segments, pre-module demonstration videos and supervised dissection time, allowing each participant to progress through a clearly defined technical sequence.
The training was delivered at the Hellenic Center of Neurosurgical Research in Athens and included a total of 11 hours of hands-on practical work on fresh-frozen cadaver specimens, with complete surgical kits available at each workstation.
As an archived edition page, this section serves both as a record of the 2024 course and as part of the broader academic pathway around directed rhinoplasty cadaver training, surgical education and the wider professional profile of Dr George Mireas.

- Operating-room setup, anaesthesia and splint placement
- Incisions, dissection-elevation, septum preparation and septal graft harvesting
- Hump reduction: cartilaginous and bony components
- Preparation and placement of spreader grafts, SEG and columellar strut
- Fixation to the ANS
Day 2 — Sunday, 8 December 2024
- Cephalic trim of the LLCs
- Lateral crura steal and neodome creation
- Neodome anchoring with TIG, SEG and columellar support concepts

- Closure of incisions
Educational Highlights
Fresh-frozen cadaver specimens, full surgical instrumentation at each workstation and a focused laboratory setting were used to support reproducible step-by-step technical learning.
The course combined short lectures, demonstration videos before each module and faculty-guided dissection, with emphasis on direct application rather than purely theoretical discussion.
A certificate of participation was provided under EACCME-UEMS criteria, and the course material documented 11 CME-CPD continuing medical education credits.

Official Programme Record
The official programme of the 2024 edition provides the strongest documentary layer for this page. It records the course title, dates, Athens venue, registration framework, hands-on structure, faculty composition and the full operative schedule across the two training days.
For directed cadaver course pages, this documentary layer is especially important because it complements the event photographs by showing formal organization, scientific structure and the precise educational content delivered during the course.
Together with the course photographs from Athens, the programme strengthens the academic record of the 2024 edition and supports the broader authority of the site’s rhinoplasty education section.
